The organizing committee, working together with the city of Montréal, seeks to forge a meaningful, positive heritage for Montrealers in the run-up to the 2026 UCI Road World Championships and after the event.
The awarding of host duties for the event also led to Montréal being granted the UCI Bike City label in 2023. To date, only 26 cities and regions worldwide have received this designation, in recognition not only of their involvement in elite cycling through the hosting of UCI events, but also their investments in cycling for all.
By bringing together the Montréal community as well as supporters of sustainable mobility and cycling, the organizing committee hopes to contribute to the growth of cycling in the city as well as leave an indelible imprint on Montrealers’ collective memory.
